Led by the Vice President for the Office of Development, Jim Hall

(https://www.linkedin.com/in/jim-hall-913270131/), our fundraising team at Georgia Tech

currently consists of more than 100 professionals who are focused on securing

transformative philanthropy (major and principal gifts) to support the strategic priorities

of the Institute and its colleges, schools, and programs, including Georgia Tech

Athletics. For fiscal year 2024 (closed 6/30/2024), the Development team’s efforts

resulted in over $243 million in new gifts and commitments in support of Transforming

Tomorrow: The Campaign for Georgia Tech, which will secure more than $2 billion in

new commitments and gifts from individuals, foundations, corporations, and other

organizations. One of the most significant priorities within Transforming Tomorrow is

ensuring access of the brightest undergraduate, graduate, and professional students to

Job Summary

To secure the philanthropic support of individuals and organizations for the benefit of the

Institute through the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of planned gifts. Gift

plans may combine different methods/techniques of giving, and require knowledge of a variety

of funding assets including cash, publicly traded stock, municipal bonds, real estate, privately

held stock, personal property (such as art), or life insurance. This position will interact on a

consistent basis with: Office of Development executives and officers, Institute executives and

officers, faculty, alumni, other potential donors and staff. This position typically will advise and

counsel: development executives, and officers. This position will supervise: N/A.

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 - Participate in development and implementation of marketing plans to promote

planned gifts; prepare presentations and other materials describing tax-wise ways of giving.

Job Duty 2 - Identify and cultivate planned giving prospects, working in concert with major gift

officers.

Job Duty 3 - Prepare illustrations and proposals for planned gifts; work with donors and their

professional advisors in completing and documenting planned gifts.

Job Duty 4 - Provide stewardship of planned giving donors through regular visits and ongoing

communication in coordination with major gift officers assigned.

Job Duty 5 - Provide information, training and orientation on tax-wise gifts to members of the

Development staff and external constituencies.

Job Duty 6 - Work in partnership with GT's planning giving legal counsel in coordinating gift

planning legal issues.

Job Duty 7 - Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements

Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Required Experience

Six to eight years of job related experience

Proposed Salary

Salary Range: $120,000 - $140,000

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

ABILITIES

Overnight travel required for project delivery; flexibility in on-site daily service delivery hours

SKILLS

This job requires expertise in personal financial planning and estate and trust administration,

especially as applied within a fund raising environment. Marketing, communications,

organization and administrative skills are required, as is the ability to use office related computer

applications. The ability to work within a team environment is required.
